Timberland to stay in Stratham

The Timberland Company announced Thursday it will remain at 200 Domain Drive — where they’ve been since 1994 — for the foreseeable future. With their lease set to expire in 2010, the company had been seeking 160,000 feet of office space for its 600-person workforce and considered several location in the Seacoast area.

“After careful consideration, we’ve made the decision to remain in our current location. We look forward to partnering with our landlord, Altid Enterprises, to make significant improvements to the building that will improve our physical working space and our environmental footprint,” said company spokesperson Kate King. “We are also excited about continuing our relationship with the town of Stratham as we work to improve our headquarters and its surroundings.”

In Portsmouth, both the Portwalk project underway at the site of the Parade Office Mall and the former Celestica building at Pease International Tradeport were among the alternate locations being considered by the apparel and footwear giant.

“We are grateful for the professionalism and commitment of the various communities we evaluated as well as developers who assisted us in our search,” said King.
